NO FINISHING FINESSE & CONVENIENT AMNESIA During the initial phase when the product is mostly under wraps all was OK OK. However when the pre-production transitioned to the critical “finishing” phase he conveniently started to shirk off responsibility and became forgetful on his many promises. It started with his Chief Carpenter & Staff walking off abruptly, due to non payment of dues. They took all keys alongwith them. And our new home was left unguarded at their mercy for a week! We were patient & sympathetic till then as his smooth talk and charm had blinded us. But once work restarted & he was managing alone without help of his chief carpenter - the situation went downhill & he quickly started falling back on his commitments. The lockable provision for wardrobes (Kitchen & Bedroom) was not provided. When we argued that this was discussed before signing the Contract, he sneered saying a locking system would affect the aesthetics. When we refused to budge, he very reluctantly provided the locks. The workmanship was so below par that the drilling of slots/ holes for locks caused the outer shutter laminates to crack. The locks provided were of cheap quality & after his unceremonious exit we had to get the locks repaired & one replaced at our cost. The “packing” to fix the hinges to the kitchen shutter were so untidily executed that they would be visible from edges. Whenever we opened / closed shutters pieces of laminated used in packing would fall off. The top counter of modular kitchen had a big crack on it, probably while fixing counter to wall. He did not rectify this crack assuming that his customer would never notice this grave error. The wardrobe quality was substandard. No edge binding was provided in the interiors of wardrobes. When confronted he shrugged saying that this was never discussed. However edge binding is a regular feature & one did not know that basics have to be taught to an accomplished Engineer – Businessman & supposed Industry veteran. At the Lofts the Inside laminates were installed untidily .The laminates did not stretch the entire extent of the loft’s width – the balance left bare. Also the laminate he used inside the loft was scraps , hence not all were white color. The laminates he had fixed started developing cracks in wardrobes & lofts. This was within a fortnight of him completing his task & our house was vacant and uninhabited! Atleast 20% of the internal white laminates (kitchens & wardrobes) cracked within 2 weeks of installation and had to be replaced at our cost. in so many places to cut costs he has used random colored laminates or none at all. In the modular kitchen the underside of drawer had a brown color laminate - probably scrap left from the wardrobe. Hoping maybe that his customers were color blind. In one of the wardrobes the underside of drawers is left bare without laminate! When his chief carpenter disappeared taking with him our house & wardrobe keys, he did replace them But in the process he forced open the wardrobe shutters in an attempt to unlock them. Due to which the sides of the shutters have scratches all over. The outer edge binding needs to be replaced which was highlighted & yet remains unattended to this day. All Contractors assume responsibility of debris removal. This too was conveniently removed from his agenda. He bullied & harassing us into getting the cleaning done at our cost & supervision. After which he very offensively scoffed at my parents saying they should have got the dusting done as well! NO AFTER SALES SERVICE Mr Dutta made sure we paid him every cent & then merrily absconded. After repeated calls he came to check snags.When he failed to justify his callous mistakes, promised to get the snags rectified. After which he conveniently disappeared / went below the radar. PLS AVOID HIS SERVICES
